Job Summary:

The Construction Safety Technician will serve as the client’s on-site representative for a helical piers construction project near Alexandria, Louisiana. This position is responsible for administering, implementing, and enforcing Environmental, Health, and Safety programs across all field construction activities, with particular focus on heavy construction and helical piles. The role requires a highly independent safety professional with substantial field experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to deliver consistent daily reporting to corporate leadership.

Duties & Essential Job Functions:

Manage day-to-day field safety operations for Project Site.
Conduct daily field safety inspections, audits, and observations.
Report safety activities, findings, incidents, and metrics to corporate leadership and management daily.
Prepare incident reports, safety alerts, and required documentation.
Ensure compliance with company Safety Management Systems and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
Coordinate and deliver site safety orientations, toolbox talks, and required safety training.
Support in developing, implementing, and revisiting a site-specific EHS plan.
Supports Job Safety Analysis and Site-Specific Rescue Plans for each job.
Acts as a resource for Contractor employees.
Take personal ownership and responsibility for protecting people from harm and developing strategies that drive performance and support continuous improvement.
Identify hazards and work with project teams to develop and implement effective mitigation strategies.
Lead incident investigations, including fact-finding, root cause analysis, and corrective action development.
Support and protect company interests by ensuring contractual safety requirements and client expectations are met.
Promote employee safety, accountability, and engagement through consistent field presence and leadership.

Qualifications:

Required:

3+ Years experience in heavy construction, foundation, and/or helical piling projects.
OSHA 30-hour Certification
Safety certifications such as CHST, COSS, COSM, GSP, or equivalent.
Demonstrated experience supporting heavy equipment and large-scale construction operations.
Strong field-based safety experience with the ability to work independently.
Proven ability to communicate effectively with field personnel, contractors, and corporate leadership.
OSHA 500, 510, 501, or 511 certifications.
Valid state driver’s license
Authorized to work in the US.
