Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead our financial operations and ensure the financial health of our organization.The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of accounting experience,including 5+years in a leadership role with responsibility for overseeing our financial team. This role requires a deep understanding of construction accounting, financial strategy , and strong leadership skills. The Controller with work closely with senior management to provide financial guidance and insights , ensuring the growth and stability of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and financial reporting
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, including Accounting Managers and Bookkeepers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and high performance
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes, including financial statement preparation, consolidation, and analysis
  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets, ensure compliance with GAAP, and mitigate financial risks.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop financial strategies and provide insights into company performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
  • Review and improve financial reports including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and project specific financial analysis
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and coordinate audits with external auditors and tax advisors
  • Manage financial planning and analysis (FP&A) activities, providing data driven insights to support strategic decision making
  • Oversee job costing and construction-specific financial processes, including progress, billing, change orders, and work-in-progress (WIP) reporting
  • Drive the implementation and optimization of financial systems and processes, ensuring scalability and efficiency as the company grows

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field required
  • 10+ years of accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a Senior Leadership role such as Controller or Director of Finance
  • Experience in the Construction industry or related field highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and construction accounting principles
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks (desktop and online) and experience with ERP systems is preferred
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing internal controls and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with a focus on team development and effective communication
  • Strong analytical skills, with ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth oriented environment
