Job Summary: The Senior EHS Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs to ensure regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA) and promote a proactive safety culture. This role requires advanced experience in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the ability to lead corrective action development. The Senior EHS Specialist may also assist with Industrial Hygiene (IH) sampling, or provide Environmental assistance as requested in support of organizational compliance and continuous improvement.
Duties & Essential Job Functions:
Lead facility-wide EHS initiatives, policy development and implementation, and training programs.
Conduct and lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and development of corrective and preventive actions.
Guide and assist key stakeholders in identifying actions to reduce risk.
Assist in conducting Industrial Hygiene (IH) sampling and exposure assessment, including noise and air monitoring.
Provide Environmental compliance support, including waste management, reporting, and regulatory documentation.
Participate in routine safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
Provide guidance and support in ensuring compliance with applicable federal/state/local regulations.
Support regulatory reporting activities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Analyze EHS performance metrics and recommend improvements.
Qualifications: Required:
7–10 years of progressive experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety roles
Demonstrated experience conducting incident investigations and leading root cause analysis
Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and Industrial Hygiene principles
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Ability to understand process
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Highly Recommended
Preferred:
Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, related field; or equivalent experience
Additional certifications such as SMS, OHST
Industrial Hygiene coursework
Physical & Environmental Requirements:
Work may involve exposure to noise, dust, heat, and heavy equipment areas
Must be able to wear required PPE in designated zones
Ability to stand, walk, climb, and occasionally lift materials as required
