EHS Support Technician
Job Summary:
The EHS Support Technician will assist with the daily administration of the Environmental, Health and Safety programs that ensure compliance with statutory requirements and promote safe and healthy working conditions. Perform assignments of reasonable complexity following the direction of the assigned manager. Supports established policies and procedures. Prepares reports, provides site inspections, supports established safety programs, and supports training and orientation.

Duties & Essential Job Functions:
  • Assist with Environmental and Safety activities across the facility.
  • Help with waste management tasks, recordkeeping, and routine compliance documentation.
  • Participate in routine audits, inspections, and assessments.
  • Conduct inventory, labeling, and placarding of Hazwaste on-site
  • Assist with basic regulatory reporting and data collection.
  • Support efforts to meet Federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze EHS performance metrics and recommend improvements.
  • Support in developing, implementing, and revisiting a site-specific EHS plan.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Should have a strong safety background but also possess the knowledge to perform environmental tasks like permit auditing and hazard analysis
  • Acts as a resource for Contractor employees.
  • Take personal ownership and responsibility for protecting people from harm and developing strategies that drive performance and support continuous improvement.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • 2-5 years of progressive experience in EHS support roles
  • Knowledge of EPA, DOT 49CFR, and LDEQ & RCRA principles
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Ability to follow procedures and understand work processes
  • TWIC, ARSC Basic Safety.

Physical & Environmental Requirements:
  • Work may involve exposure to noise, dust, heat, and areas with heavy equipment
  • Must be able to wear required PPE in designated zones
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, and occasionally lift materials as required

Preferred:
  • RCRA & DOT Training
  • First-Aid/CPR, OSHA 10.
  • CSST or equivalent certification.
